“Don’t take life so seriously” – such an easy thing to say but such a hard thing to do.
I think we can all take life a little too seriously sometimes. I worry about vanity – what does my hair look like, is my lipstick still on, god these jeans make me look fat. I worry about what other people think of me. I worry about college and the future ( are there even journalism jobs out there anymore?!) the list goes on. When I have these worries I have to take a step back and ask myself- will any of these worries matter or help me in the future? The answer is no. Worrying gets you nowhere !! And as quoted by my Mam : “at 20 years of age you shouldn’t have a worry in the world”.
Young people these days just stress too much about silly things. I love the internet, it has brought us endless possibilities (I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this otherwise) however, I also think it has brought a lot of unnecessary stress on us. How can we help but feel ugly when all we see on Instagram is amazing looking girls with thousands of likes? How can we help but feel jealous as we watch our peers (appear to) have the time of their lives while we sit at home?
The only advice I can give is to unplug once in a while and give yourself a break. Also, remember that people don’t tend to share their most unflattering photos or the nights they spend home alone watching Netflix. We are all so hard on ourselves when at the end of the day stressing doesn’t get us anywhere.

Life goes on so why not enjoy it and stop our stressing?
